We are excited to present our first Keynote Speaker – Emilie Karafillakis!
This year during WIMC we will be tackling the most pressing issues in modern medicine. Vaccine hesitancy is a complex global problem as an increasing number of parents and patients are choosing to delay or refuse vaccines. This lecture will help you understand and address vaccine hesitancy which is crucial to their successful implementation.
Emilie Karafillakis is a researcher for the Vaccine Confidence Project, a research group led by Heidi Larson focused on studying global vaccine hesitancy, confidence and trust. Her work focuses on understanding determinants of vaccine hesitancy in European populations, and strategies addressing concerns about vaccination. She is also monitoring online sentiments around HPV vaccination and has done some work on vaccine providers hesitancy and the influence of the media on pregnant women’s confidence about influenza vaccination.
