Perioperative Surgical Home is a patient-centric, team-based model of care created by leaders within the American Society of Anesthesiologists to help meet the demands of a rapidly approaching health care paradigm The expected metrics includes improved operational efficiencies, decreased resource utilization, a reduction in length of stay and readmission, and a decrease in complications and mortality-resulting in a better patient experience of care.
Prof. Piotr Janicki is a Medical Director of the Anesthesiology Preoperative Evaluation Clinic, Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine and a Professor of Anesthesiology at the Penn State University College of Medicine. His research interests include pharmacogenomics, anesthetics and analgesics pharmacology and perioperative care.
